Ferragudo

The charming and picturesque village of Ferragudo, which is no more than 45 minutes from Faro airport, remains true to its Portuguese fishing village roots retaining traditional charm and character reminiscent of a bygone age. The heart of the village, which centres around the local square and quayside, is only a short stroll through winding, cobbled streets from the villa. It boasts a wealth of very good local restaurants and small cafes where traditional Portuguese food can be had.

On the south side of the village, completely in harmony with the whitewashed buildings and enjoying an idyllic, beachfront location is where this villa is located. With both the Angrinha beach and the sandy and expansive beach of Praia Grande on the doorstep, one is never short of space. Throughout the spring, summer and early autumn, local beach restaurants provide good quality food throughout the day and evening and when you are ready to relax, sun lounging beds and umbrellas can be hired to take advantage of the lazy days.

Whilst local restaurants provide good food and traditional entertainment, for a change of scenery you may wish to go across the water to the Marina where there are a variety of restaurants. In season, the Marina can usually be accessed by a local water taxi service, which whisks people across from the Ferragudo quayside to the Marina jetty. If you are interested in boats, this is an excellent place to have a cocktail and watch the sailing fraternity come and go in the Marina. You will also see the fishing boats coming back from their days at sea.
